Carrie “Laverne” Davis

Carrie “Laverne” Davis of Callahan, Florida passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024 at 88 years old.

Laverne was born in Taylor, Florida on November 24, 1935 to Owen and Myrtle Taylor. She worked for Prudential many years and in retirement owned a plant nursery with her husband, Lorenzie.

Laverne loved her family. You could find her swimming with them at her pool or shopping with them at the mall. She also enjoyed helping her daughter Denise at her flower shop.

She is survived by her brother Gene (Sue) Taylor; brother Larry (Louise) Taylor; son Dennis Davis; daughter Denise (Walt) Mizell; grandchildren Dennis Davis II, Devin (Erica) Mizell, Kyle (Courtney) Davis, Grant Mizell (Kaitlyn Lee), and great-grandchildren Amelia Mizell, Brady Mizell, Rafe Davis, and Tulsen Davis (due in December).

She is preceded in death by her mother Myrtle, father Owen, brother George and loving husband of 66 years Lorenzie Davis.

Her service will be graveside at Keen Cemetery on Wednesday, September 4th at 12pm with Pastor Todd Carr officiating. Arrangements by Shepherd Roberson Funeral Home.
