James David Peacock, 79, of Callahan, FL passed away Wednesday, May 22 in Fernandina Beach, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born July 28, 1944 in Eastman, GA to the late Thomas Martin Peacock and Annie Lois Haynes Peacock. He was employed with Manning Electric for 13 years before getting a job with Anheuser-Busch. He retired in 1999 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 497 of Jacksonville. Mr. Peacock was a member of River Road Baptist Church in Hilliard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years: Mrs. Gloria Willis Peacock; a son-in-law: Jason Williams; a granddaughter: Regan Henderson; a sister: Alene Rand and 5-brothers: Elmer Peacock, Raymond Peacock, Charles Peacock, Edwin Peacock and Verlin Peacock.
Mr. Peacock is survived by his daughters: Jeanie (Tony) Thompson and Penny Williams; a sister: Melba (Don) Ayers; 6-grandchildren: Dustin (Haylee) Thompson, Michael (Lindsay) Henderson, Dalton Thompson, Megan (Bryan) Lloyd, Nicholas Williams, Kaleb Williams; 9-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Callahan Chapel, 617365 Brandies Avenue, Callahan, FL 32011. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at River Road Baptist Church, 21067 County Road 121, Hilliard, Florida, 32046, with Bro. Benji Loyd and Bro Justin Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
