Sherry Thompson

Sherry Higginbotham Thompson, 89, of Callahan, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL with her loving family by her side. She was born in Hilliard, FL to the late Connie and Dellie Hodges Higginbotham. Sherry was a member of Buford Grove Baptist Church. She loved going to church to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also served by playing the organ for many years. Sherry was very well known for her cooking but everyone loved her cakes. She also enjoyed working at the Polls when it was Election time. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years: Henry Edward Thompson and a Great-grandaughter: Jettie Ray Adams. 

Sherry is survived by her children and their spouses: Darlene (Terry) Landreth, Kimberly (Bob) Hinson, and Sean Thompson; as well as 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister: Maxine Homer, and many loving nephews, nieces, and other relatives. 

The Family will receive friends Monday, October 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Buford Grove Baptist Church in Hilliard. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 11:00am also at Buford Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Pruitte and Bro. Christian Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
