Thomas Charles “Tommy” Hayes, 37, of Callahan, FL passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1987 in Jacksonville, FL and graduated from First Coast High School. He was employed with JEA since March of 2010 and was a C&M Working Foreman. Tommy loved coaching baseball at the Callahan Little League and was a faithful member of Exchange Church Wildlight.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years: Kelsey Hayes; his 9 year old daughter: Karmin Haylee Hayes; his 6 year old son: Ryan Michael Hayes; his father: Ronnie Hayes; his mother: Sharon Cox; his father and mother-in-law: John “Poopie” & Melissa Cowart; grandparents-in-law: Gailen & Brenda Gates and Faye Williams; brothers-in-law: Colby Cowart and Cody & Taylor Cowart; an aunt and uncle-in-law: Page & Meleah Jolly; cousins-in-law: Michael & Taylor Jolly and Chloe & Dalton Terrell; and a host of other relatives, close friends and work family. Tommy was preceded in death by their infant child. 

A Homegoing Ceremony will be held Saturday, November 30 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 45090 Green Avenue, Callahan, Florida with Pastor Todd Carr officiating. Immediately following the ceremony, a Celebration of Life will be held until 3:00 PM at The Barn at Cottonwood Ranch, 452039 Old Dixie Highway, Callahan, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family will have a donation box set up at the Celebration of Life to help support Kelsey, Karmin, and Ryan during this difficult time.
